Digitization, virtual reality and new business models: Cleanzone 2018, Europe’s most important cleanroom meeting place, has once again managed to reflect the future topics of our business. Once again, it was a inspiring melting pot to exchange our experience and new ideas. The top-class supporting program and the speakers’ visions also provided new impetus. What struck me and many visitors was that in 2018, in addition to technological innovations, people came back into focus – as employees, customers, users, suppliers or (missing) specialists.
A total of 78 companies from ten countries presented their ideas and trends to around 1,300 researchers, developers, users and interested parties from 39 countries. In addition, Cleanzone Middle East 2018 celebrated its successful premiere in Dubai.
One of the personal highlights of Cleanzone 2018 in Frankfurt was the opportunity to experience the possibilities of virtual reality for cleanrooms myself: With the Cleanroom Behavior Training, sensitive processes outside the cleanroom can be learned and tested under realistic conditions. Building Information Modeling is just as forward-looking for our industry: it allows cleanrooms to be developed in parallel for all participants through a common software platform that also optimizes the planning process.
I myself participated in Cleanzone 2018 with Expert Talks at my CleanroomFuture stand on cleanroom design and the business models of the future. Germany’s probably most important business influencer and multiple book author Edgar K. Geffroy provided a great moment there: He inspired his audience with his analyses, conclusions and appeals for the second half of the digital future. I took many valuable ideas and impulses with me from our direct conversations.
Cleanzone 2018 was also the premiere for my new Cleanroom Future magazine and the network www.cleanroomfuture.com. I thus offer the industry a platform for exchange, innovation and discussion between users, industry and research. It’s an online meeting point with the potential to unite and network the knowledge of all those interested in cleanrooms. Let us develop cleanroomfuture.com together!
